Can someone tell me the size of rim i need on the back of my chevelle to fit this tire. Also are these tires good with 3.73-4.10 gears with a auto?

You don't say what year Chevelle but if it is a 68-72, an 15X8" rim with a 4.5" backspacing will alow that tire to fit perfectly. For a 66/67 year, I believe this will also work but I can't say for sure as I don't have experience with this. But, if you do a search you probably will find out information on this.

As for whether this tire is OK with a 3:73 or 4:10 gears is an odd question to me. Certainly if you have a car that came from the factory with 14" tire and the gears you mentioned, with X" outside diameter tire and you go to X" + 1 or 2" dia your resultant gearing will change. There is a web page with formulas for this calculation but I don't know what it is. But it should change from something like 3:73 to 3:55 or 3:31 or 4:10 to 3:90 or 3:73. So your question should specify your final intent with the car...racing or cruizing.

Hope some of this helps

BTW: Yuor speedo will likely be off with the change to 15"

Ditto to what Robert said. In fact, at some point I want to put that exact size on the rear of my car. I just need to pony up the $$ for new 15" ss wheels. 15x8 will work nicely. I've looked at the revs per mile for Radial T/A's for 275/60/15s vs 245/60/14s (what I'm running now) and when you apply the lower percentage of revs to my 4.10s it effectively makes them 3.74s. But as the Mouse has said, you have to decide what you're trying to achieve with the car before deciding whether this is a good move for you or not.

thanks for the info guys, it is on a 69 chevelle and i am putting in 4.10's. I wanted this bigger tire because i am switching from a 14inch with 225/70/14's on the rear. I just need to keep the rpm's as low as possible with these gears. The gears i have now are 3.08's. The reason for the gear switch is so i have a street/strip car that will see some 1/4 action but still have fairly low rpms in the 3000 range for the highway at 60mph.
