Hope my screen name doesn't hurt anyone's feelings, but that's what I have. (I would be shunned by the Oldsmobile community when asking this particular 'taboo' question since I'm using a bow tie power plant.) I have replaced my 330ci with a 350 Chevy, so essentially I have a small block 1966 Chevelle in 1966 442 clothing. Switch was a sinch, people switching to BBC sell the frame mounts on ebay for peanuts, and trans. cross member bolted right up.
I have some chevy truck parts, and intend to mate my existing (stock) power steering box to a 1980's era power steering pump since the brackets & pump fit the engine perfectly. I also have an original power steering pump with some olds brackets (which weigh about 100#, but would in no way fit the new engine.) I have saved all the hose ends (original car had an engine fire.) My question is, does it matter which hose goes where, (I would imagine that it DOES.) And if so, does anyone have a diagram to show inlet vs. outlet? (i.e. fluid flow sketch?) Would it cause damage if I just tried one out and were wrong?
Any time I have upgraded hoses etc, we always replaced one at a time so there was no issue. Any input is appreciated!
Thanks,
Jeremy
