I have a '67 Chevelle Malibu with 255/65/15 BFGoodrich radial TA's in the back. The tires are nice and give decent traction untill I really stand on it.Burnouts are fun don't get me wrong but I have been racing some rice burners around town and when I burn out they get a head start.I have not lost yet, but, I don't like giving head starts. What I need to know is if anyone knows what the biggest possible tire is that will fit well on my Chevelle. The Chassis is stock except for new shocks, springs, and control arms. I want to keep the original ride hieght and I do not want to hack up the car I just want the biggest tire that will fit in the fenders and not rub or damage.I am running 8inch centerlines for rims. If anyone has an idea let me know..

MY 68 has 275-60/15's with no body modifications. Rim's are 8" with 4" BS.
If the wheelwells are the same as 68 should
fit without damaging tires.
You might find an old "test tire" 1st.

I would like to know the same thing. I have the 275-60/15's on 8.5x15 rims on my 67 and they do rub if airshocks get low.
