I have restored my el camino fully and am looking now to the under half of the car and I feel so ignorant in asking this but it must be asked. My el camino is a 1969 and it is a coil in the rear and has shocks as well connecting to what seems to be a 4-link. When looking to replace the shocks that attach to the 4-link will they just be listed as a shock or is their a certain name they go by. I appreciate everyone's help this is just to save me time from buying the wrong part.

Thanks

Don't feel ignorant, we all have to ask sometimes about one thing or another, that's a lot of what this site is about, helping each other out.
They are just shocks. The others (4) are called trailing arms and they stabilize the rear end in the chassis.
:beers:

Don't forget that the El Camino came factory with air shocks....I put a set of good ole Hi jackers on mine for about 60 bucks and that also helps acheive the ride height you're looking for....
