I need to get my new slicks balanced but I can't get the center cap out. Its the rubber o-ring style that snaps in. Any ideas?

Last resort but time is running out.

If they push through from the back try standing up a 4x4 (will need 2 persons for this) and holding the wheel above it, lower the cap/wheel onto the 4x4. The weight of the wheel and tire should make it easy to pop the cap out. Put something over the cap to protect it.

If they push in from the front find something to take the place of the 4x4 that will fit inside the cap and punch it out from behind.

Thanks Dennis, I'll give it a shot in the morning. Last night, we were hitting it with a dead blow hammer with no luck and I was thinking it would bust befor it came out.

How about using some WD-40, soap or similar to lubricate/loosen the o-ring?

I got them out. They pushed in from the front and my dad said he put them in from the back, his CRS is acting up.

LOL!! Glad you got them out. Don't be too tough on dad, I see folks push when the door says pull right on it all the time!! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
