New guy here, needs help on 70 conv. What is the story on modifying coupe wheelhouse or do they make different ones for my conv? I am getting different answers.

Unless I am mistaken, the convertible wheel well has a softball sized "dent" where the hydraulic cylinder needs to be positioned and the hard top does not. I hope that someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

The tops of convertible wheelhouses are flattened out to provide access for the top. They are even different from Cutlass, Skylark and lemans. Unique to the chevelle convertible.

It's alot of additonal work to install the "complete" wheelhouse.
Mine was OK on the top side so I opted to buy the coupe versions and cut off the top and lap weld it. When it's done, you won't be able to tell the difference.
Those convertible wheelhouses above are quite pricey in my opinion.
