I eventually want to go with 17-inch wheels and I wanted to know from others with Chevelles,

How tall are you rear tires, and what size is that?

I have to rebuild my rear end first, and want to figure the approximate tire height to help aid in my final gear selection...

I am currently running a 295/50-15 BFG T/A (approximately 26.5 inches tall - 13.25 inches from center to floor).

I know there are many sizes available, but don't know if a 30-inch tire on a 17 inch rim looks good on a Chevelle, etc...

I've got 17" ARE 200-S on my 67. Tires are 225/50R17 front on 17x7 and 255/50R17 rear on 17x8. Fronts are 26" tall and rears are 27" tall. Check link(s) in signature for pictures.
