Was wondering what kind of luck people were having with the aftermarket 70 Chevelle front fenders fitting? I am trying to decide if it is worth welding in patch panels on the original fenders, or get aftermarket. How much massaging do the aftermarket's need???? Body work is not my thing....
Thanks

After market fit is not as good...Where are yours bad as there are patches available....

In fact, I bought a welder to practice on mine... For what it cost and the results I got, it's worth it.

Always best to keep the original pressing, Chinese fenders are softer metal, lean once on the top of the fender and woops a dent!

I was going to replace mine, bought a pair, put them on about twice as many shims as oe. Looked good , when we put the hood on (oe) diden't close. When we adjusted so the hood would close, the fenders did not fit the lines of the car. Took them off had my oe's repaired, everything fits, looks good.

Thanks for the input. The original fenders were from a malibu, and I will have to get off all the clip pins for the trim, and the typical lower(behind the wheel) area is the bad spot. I do have a welder, and I guess I can't screw them up too bad....
Original it is. Time to tear her down.........:beers:

Get the Goodmark patch panels. The bottoms look like they're formed like the original fenders. I bought the cheap ones with the straight bottoms. Lots of work to get them right. I'm going to sell them for a loss and go with Goodmark.
