I have a '66 SS. What's the largest 15" 60 series tire that will fit comfortably in the front & rear wheel wells? I have 15x7 Americans w/ the 3 3/4" offset.

With that little offset I'd be suprised of you could fit anything larger than a 235/60 without rolling your outer lip. You should have plenty of inside clearance though.

I have 50 series tires on mine...

265-50/15 up front on stock 15 X 7 ralleys,

295-50/15 on back with custom offset 15 X 8 Ralleys, no lip modifications...

I think I have seen 275-60/15s on the back of a few Chevelles...

I have a 1966 malibu ss and I have stock 15x7 rallies in front and back and the largest that I could fit out back with so little back spacing was a 255-60r-15 with about finger width of space before rubbing on the lip. Fronts I run 235-60r-15 and thats no problem at all.

I think the P255's on 7" rims (3.75" bs) might work and the example above seems to indicate that except that he did not say what back spacing he had. In any event I think the largest recommended 60 series tire on a 7" rim is 255 anyway. I have 235 70's on the back of my 67 with plenty of clearance although I was going for more of the look (equivalent to G70's) of the car when I got it not the widest that would fit.
