Well it's going to be summer in Kansas soon, and i want my a/c to work this year! Last year I installed a stv update kit flushed the system new drier added oil and charged and had it working then the comp. quit and i just suffered it out the rest of the summer. Now my question is do I just replace the A6 and drier and recharge with 134 or maybe r12 or NAP has a kit with everything from the evap. forward for 499.99 and go this route? I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with this setup. Thanks

What happened to the compressor? Internal failure or did the clutch disintegrate?
What is included in the NAPA kit? Or did you mean OAP (Old Air Products)?
Why did you decide to go with the STV eliminator? (I'm not a fan of those kits).
Most importantly,
What is the year, make and model?

Not NAPA, Not Old Air Products.
Nostalgic Air Products
Dunno about the AC systems they have, but they had an R-4 adapter I needed to reroute hoses on my 59 when I went to a GM serpentine belt system.

what happen to the compressor was a god awful sound from under the hood. the reason i went with the stv upgrade is because my old one was shot. the NAP kit has a new parallel flow cond.,a new drier, hose kt and sanden style comp,w/mount

Nostalgic Air Products. I had to look them up, that's one I've never heard of.
That sounds like a pretty good upgrade kit. It would actually be better suited to your STV eliminator than the old system too.
Do you have a link to the kit, I couldn't find it readily on their site. I would like to see how everything mounts

I just bought a complete set up from them at Daytona in March. Really nice guys and very knowledgeable. Their products look great and I could not tell a difference them and Vintage in side by side comparison. I met the owner of the company and he and an employee spent 2 hours with me explaining everything and my options.

If you contact them...tell them that Brian referred you (from Orlando) and they threw in the evaporator at that $499.00 price. I also bought an electric Meradyne fan from them at a killer price too. The fan is an 11" dual set up with a true 2760 cfm. I bought the under dash mount and I know a lot of guys running these systems and even here in Florida they work great. We are installing mine now and we're taking our time as to make it look real nice.....I can't wait for a/c.
