Just wondering what the range limitations are of these tires. Can they take a 20 mile trip, race a few times then drive 20 miles back? Or when they get hot do they just start burning off tread? They wouldn't be going on any extended road trips or anything, but I'm just wondering if they can take a few road miles. Also, are tubes really "required" like Summit states? Thanks for all advice!!

I work with a guy who drives his mid-10 second (on the bottle) car to work a couple of times a month, about 100 mile round trip. He runs the car a few times a year an the track, but sees more street action than that. He has never had a problem with them in either capacity. Granted I wouldn't want them on a daily driver, but limited street duty would be fine. In fact I plan on putting a set on my car later this summer.

The biggest problem with driving them on the street is that the soft rubber will pick up road grit, causing them to have less bite at the track and wear out quicker.
Tubes are not required, IMO. I run E.T. Streets without tubes. If you do use tubes you'll want to use rim screws to avoid the possibility of pulling off a stem if the tire slips.

Nothing personal but, I'm about to drop $400 on some ET Streets and I needed to know.
I just called Mickey Thompson's East Coast General Info phone 330-928-9092 and asked them about your comment and they agreed with me that once you do a burn out it'll clean them off just fine. They will wear faster than a Drag Radial, etc.
However, They did say to avoid any chemicals on the road like oils, etc. at all cost! Also, that it is possible to "over burn" them when you do a burn out, causing them to "glaze over".
I can't tell you how many guys think you HAVE to do a "John Force" burnout!
