Where can I find the fuel pump to carb line for a 65 L-79? I believe the originals were chromed. All that I can find is plain steel and stainless. I do not believe that either is correct.

Am I simply not seeing the chrome versions somewhere? Are they not available? Did they not come chromed from GM? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

A stainless one will polish up real nice and look like chrome. Hopefully, RichL-79 will see this post and drop in and answer your question. www.rightstuffdetailing.com (http://www.rightstuffdetailing.com) might be able to help. They will be at the Carlisle swap meet later this month.

The originals were chromed steel and consist of two lines and two fittings and a fuel filter bracket for the correct GF-90 filter.

Contact James at Hinshaws, he carries a complete reproduction L79 fuel line kit.

They are also available from Corvette vendors, probably cost more.

Thanks guys. A lot of the Corvette ones I was seeing included a rubber line from the filter to the carb rather than a second steel line. I know enough to know that isn't correct!

I will probably just go with Hinshaws and call it good.

Thanks again.

If a Corvette has a rubber line someone has done it wrong. The kits I have seen have a chrome steel line from the pump to the filter and from the filter to the carburetor.

Remember these are aftermarket/repro parts. They are similar but not exact reproductions.

I can't explain why, but Corvette parts suppliers have changed the kit to include a rubber hose from the filter to the carb. :clonk: I checked various Corvette parts places and they all had the same incorrect kit.

I'm glad I held onto a spare set of correct GM lines.

Yep, Corvette Central has the same one that Rich has a link to above. In fact all the Corvette supplies I checked showed that exact same kit. There is simply no way that I am running a rubber hose from the filter to the carb. Not happening.

I emailed Hinshaw's and they have the correct set. Two chromed lines, the filter, and the bracket in one kit. That works for me. A little more $ but sounds like it is correct.

James will take care of you. Post back after you get the lines and get them installed. I'm curious about the quality of the lines and how well they fit.
