Hello all ,
Im new to the restoration game and classic car collecting. I just bought a 1972 Chevelle ss and to my eye it looks like it sits a little low. Is that common or should I change the coils in the car.
Does anyone know what the corect hight or the car should be.
Thanks for your help

To me, the stock configuration looks that way. Most people like a little bit of "rake" where the front looks lower than the rear. But the stock "look" didn't do that.

Not saying your's isn't off - it might be. Sorry i don't have the stock heights, I'm sure they are on this site somewhere.

I asked the same question about my '72 a while back, and was told it is fine...maybe better because the lower Chevelles sit, the less prone they are to wheelhop.

Here is mine.

Here's how mine sits, it has the original coils in the back and new ones in the front. The front has settled a little but not much more than what you see in this picture.

the front of the car sits slightly higher than the rear. that is how they came from the factory.

Mine was squatty in the back real bad and I changed it simply with staggering the front and back wheels.
