On my new 70 elky, the car has been lowered using cut springs in the front- has a big swaybar, and ? shocks in front (rides good though)

with the old Rims (15x7 225 60R15 tires) they never rubbed. With my new rims (15x8 235 60r15) the Drivers side wheel rubs during right hand cornering, or braking(while cornering) it is rubbing on the inner fenderwell on top(outter top edge of tire it rubbing).

Would a slimmer front tire width help? Any suggestions?(i want RWL tires) I really don't want to go buy another set of front rims, but I also don't really want it any lower than it already is...

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Ben
Here is the car with the offending rims installed:

I have 235/60/15's on my lowered 69 using 15x8's with 4.5 inches of backspacing without any rubbing. Is the 70 that much different? How much backspacing do you have?

I'm not sure on the backspacing... But i got it fixed anyway.

Put a couple of the 225/60r15s from the old 15x7 rims on my 15x8 centerlines- Problem solved! no more rubbing! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
