I already know that I can fit a 15 x 10 with a 5.5 ich BS. I also have heard that our chevelles react nicely to a 4.11 with a 28 inch tall tire. My question is this.

I already have a 15 x7 can I swap the tires that are currently on there to the 10's? Also is there someplace that I can get the draglites at this size for "cheap"? Jegs has them for 166 each. Thanks guys much apreciated…

Be ready to do a lot of mods to get 325's to fit. I have 15x10's with 5.5" bs and i'm worried about getting 295's to fit without some mods. Fender is no problem but the sidewalls of my 275/60's are not very far from the frame.

Interesting, I was reading an old post with wes colby and from what I understood all that would have to happen is to roll the fenders lip.

From what I gathered the 10 inch rim was to big got the 275 and caused the tire to bulge? Is this true?

I currently have 15 x 7 with 275/60/15's and haven't ventured into this yet. Thanks for the help.

I have the 275/60's on my 15x10's with no problems for over a year.

Remember every car is going to be a little different. And the 325's required a lot more than rolling the fender lip if I remember correctly. He had to hammer out the wheel well and do some other "massaging".

I'm not saying don't try it, but i AM saying don't expect to be able to just put them in and have everything work right away http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I hear ya, Don't really have the cash for a "test fit" with tires.

How do your 275's fit? Do you like the way they look? Is there a side wall bulge? What about the max 9.5 inch rim I keep hearing about?

Also what about the 295/65/15? Is that being more realistic?

I like the look of the 275's but the sidwalls are spread out pretty good, it doesn't cause any problems though.

I actually had to slightly roll the fender lip on my passenger side with the 275's, if I had passengers in the back and went over some bumps it would rub the raised letters on the tires.

What I plan to do is get one step bigger each time I change rear tires. So when these wear out i'll try and stuff something a little wider with the same overall height in. A 295/65 would be really tall, I think it's around 30". I know that 295/50's are shorter than a 275/60, but i'm not sure what size in a 50 series you need to have a 28" diameter.

Eventually the tire size will be limited by the frame, i'm not sure how much wider I could go.

However there is no problem sticking a 275 on a 10" wide rim. However the sidewalls are spread out. The tires end up being about 1.5-2" wider sidewall to sidewall than the tread width. Still looks good though IMHO.
