I was looking for some street legal high traction tires in a 275/60X15 radial. Not sure what to buy. Any recommendations appreciated.

What sec width and tread width? I put that size BFG Drag Radial on my 65 and it just blows them off.

My rim size of choice is 15X8 with 3.5" backspace although I don't have them yet. I was looking at the BFG Drag radial. I think it's about 10" tread width. When you say "blows them off" do you mean they come off the rim or the tread doesn't last? I know underinflated tires can come off the rim at launch.
(nice 65)

townhome,
I had 235-60-15 BFG Drag radial, on my 68 SS-396 with a 4 speed, and 4.10s.
The engine could over power them from a roll, with no clutch. But I'd still say that they are better than 275-60-15 regular radials. Next time I'm getting bigger ones.
I just prefer the ride/handling of radials over the bias ply competition. Which are probably better drag tires, but....
Also wet weather driving is not good with any of the street legal drag tires, so keep that in mind.
