What is the largest size 14" Tire can I run on my 1964 ss. I'd like to keep the stock look.

14x7 with 245/60s seam to be the largest you can run.

I'm not sure, I just purchased the car 2 weeks ago and it appears to have the stock wheels. Also thanks for the favorates link you left. Some great info there.

I just purchased the car 2 weeks ago, the wheels appear to be stock. But I'm not sure what size stock is. Also thanks for the great link info. I'm and old Straight axle Corvette 1957 guy and can appreciate good info sights...

Honestly, I know the least about the 64SS chevelle. I would guess that your 14" wheels are actually 14x5. If that is the case, then your limit is a 205/70R14 tire.

The size is most likely a 14X6 with 4" backspacing. You need to measure them to make sure before talking sizes.

But, with a stock axle you can fit an 8" wide with 5" bs with 255mm wide tires. You should have 1" clearance on the outside and 3/4" on the inside with this setup.

The 6" width w/4"bs, 7" width w/4.5"bs, and 8" w/5"bs will all be centered in the wheel well.

A 255 fits great, but I don't think it will fit on a 6" wide rim. Look for the widest rubber that will fit on the 6" rim. I know a 235 will fit great and look good, but it won't look stock. The stock were more like 195s or 205s.
