Looking into getting 15x10's for the Velle and have the center caps from original rims but has anyone found correct trim rings for the 15x10's? All I have found through vendor and board searches are for x7's. Im wondering about the gap left between the ring and the rim being too deep or if its even noticeable. TIA.

Nevermind, I have found that I can make trim rings with Aluminum foil, some JB Weld, duct tape and some 3M super adhesive. Let me know if you guys want to order my kit. 29.95 out the door.

I have now decided not to run rims and tires at all. I am in the process of converting my Velle into a half track vehicle. Front will sit on skis and back half will be tracks. This will be a winter 1320 car and I plant to install 540's both for and aft. working on widening the trunk and drilling mounts for the 540 rear mill.

Why not save the big bucks that the alterations and those 540s will set you back and get a nice team of reindeer to pull you down the snowy 1320? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif Of course then you'd have big bucks to feed... http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Ive always wanted to have a horse named torque hooked to my Velle for such purposes. More cruising than racing. But just to be able to say I have 1 HP and 4 (hoofs) foot lbs. of torque and for it to be physically verified true just by looking to my horse would be too cool. I need trim rings for the hoofs now so screw the x10's.

If i remember correctly I think someone said that they were using trim rings of a 15 x 8 rim and it looked fine, but I'm not sure?
hope this helps…

Yes it does, thank you. Was just curious on how big that space would be with the x8 rings. Figuring on about 1 1/2 - 2 inch. gap but wanted to make sure before I go after rims and tires. Guess that scraps my half track, horse drawn winter quarter mile car.
Had to shoot it down, didnt ya? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif Thanks

Hey Beaux, think about some chrome ralleys like mine. Dont have to worrie about the trim rings at all!
You need 6 horses, 6 hp and 24 foot lbs, these are heavy cars and need all the torque you can get http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
