I have a 69 chevelle with 15" rallies on it. I would like to stay with the 15" size but use SS wheels. I know the original SS wheels were 14" and year One also has them in 15" but I don't want to pay that much for them.
I am going to Carlisle Apr 17th & 18th to see if I can pick up the 15" SS wheels cheaper. Does anyone know if GM made the 69-70 SS wheel look alike for any other model in 15"?
I seem to recall other models using them but they may have been 14" since I believe all GM used 15" during the 60's.
Also, if I do locate 15" SS wheels, are the trim rings I have now on the rallies the correct width?
Thanks in advance for all your replys,
John

15 inch 69-70 SS wheels are a relatively recent phenomenon. It's highly doubtful you'll find them at Carlisle. AND if by some small chance you do, you won't be finding any bargains. Your best bet is to go through Wheel Vintiques. (They are most likely Year One's supplier). You can get any backspacing you want. Check it out.

As for similar 15" look-alikes..B-O-P..I'm not sure. But it's possible.

Regarding trim rings: if you intend to get the same width wheel as whatever rally wheels you now have, the trim rings should be of the correct width. But not all trim rings are created equal. 69-70 SS wheels used a disticnt ring of its own with a slightly different look. These are also sold by Wheel Vintiques.

I ditto Larry's comments above. I couldn't have said it better myself.

15x7 Buick chrome 5 spoke mags will work. The 14" SS center caps bolt right up.Just get some trim rings, and you'll have 15" SS wheels. Here's what they look like:15" SS wheels/Buick rims (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/modified.jpg)
I've seen these Buick rims go for as little as $75 for all 4 at swap meets (used of course),in VGC.ALOT cheaper than the Wheel Vintiques SS rims, which are about $125 each brand new.
