Hi I just got my convertible top boot from PUI and it has these funky clips on them. Why don't they use the snaps. I am concerned when I go to attach these clips it is either going to pull my well trim up or chip my paint? Just wondering what everyone has done?

Hi Jason: Yes, some of us do run a boot on our 67!! The clips snap onto the stainless trim around the top of the well and no, they won't chip your paint. They are funky, as you say! I'd have to look at mine again to see how they clip onto the boot, but as for the fit onto the stainless they just snap on with the palm of your hand. They work fine. Problem I have is that my boot (new from OPGI) is a bit small and I really have to work at streching it fit properly. This is a problem I've heard of before. Once in place it really looks nice.

How can I stretch the boot?
Mine is ridic tight as well.
My only way of doing it is have the cover bake in the hot sun for hours to strretch it..
And it is a tight snug fit. I worry about pulling out the trim around the wheel well also
