Myself and Rich Hexemer ordered up a new set of Monocoque RT wheels and after waiting nearly 2 months, they've arrived and are on the car. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif They look killer and just wanted to share some new digi pics with you guys. Check em' out at the link in my signature.
The front wheels are 15x7 with 4.5" backspacing and the rears are 15x10 with 5.75" backspacing. They are a 3 piece wheel. The billet center is secured with aircraft bolts and the two aluminum halves are welded together. They are noticeably lighter than the Weld ProStars' I used to use and will hold up with no bending issues on the street. Some of you may remember that that's what happened to one of my rear Weld wheels and is the reason for the new replacements.
I also ditched the 255-60 BFG's in front and dropped down to a 235-60 BFG Radial TA instead.
Let me know what you think.

Great looking wheels!
Wish I had 40 Bazillion dollars to get 4 of them for my car. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
Never had a bit of trouble with Monocoques on an SCCA GT-1 car racing in southern Cal. THe lightweight was great when changing tires http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
Again, they look great on your car.

They look great Wes!!!! I ahve a few questions for you, did u you have to do anything else other then rolling the lip and the 5.75 backspacing to fit those 335's? Also about how much did they run you?

Dan,
I just noticed Wes' string here and can tell you they cost a tad under $1800 delivered to our doors. We got a break going in together on the deal by ordering 8 wheels instead of 4. Last years prices...
I believe a set would cost you about $2000 unless you do something like Wes and I did.

Scott, thanks bro and you're right, since Dales' passing Nascar will not be the same for sure. We're taking our employees up to to Dallas next weekend for the races - and he's still missed greatly here in Texas.
I'm using an MSD billet distributor with 36 degrees total advance coming in right at 2,700 rpm's. At a freckle under 10-1 compression, there's no pinging on 93 octane.
Thanks Chevello. When did you race SCCA? Sounds like alot of fun. Are the Monocoques' popular in that class?
Dan, cutting/folding the lip back was all that was needed to fit the 325's. I had actually done this four years ago when trying to fit some 295-65's Drag Radials. Talk about mombo tires!! They still rubbed even with the modified lip.
I was lucky enough to cross paths with Rich, who talked me into buying the Mono RT wheels. We both were originally interested in the Monocoque Pro-Stars but were discouraged away from them after learning that they wouldn't survive street duty very well in our 'heavier' cars.
With all the ponies that Rich is planning for his ride, I'd suspect he'd have wheel failure even without the weight!! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/eek.gif You guys should hear all the goodies that he's throwing into his car...he's going to have one seriously bad a$$ 'Velle once the fat lady sings. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

Looks great Wes!
Also, the exit for the Woodlands cruise is the next one after Woodlands Parkway. I think it's Lake Woodlands.
