: Durable black interior paint (for a convertible)

I have a solid but extrememly faded black console for my 71 maliboo convertible project. It needs a repaint, but I'm not using aspray can. I've never seen anything out of a spray can that take allot of sun exposure.

I'm sure the SEM stuff out of a spray can is fine for hardtops where the sunlight expposure is limited. But I plan on driving the wheels off my convert and parking it with the top down. I also have ZERO plans on selling this car. So I'm looking for the best, most durable satin black finish.

That being said, what can I paint my console with that will hold up to a bunch of direct sunlight exposure.................without turning chalky gray?

I've successfully used my spray gun to paint interior parts in the past, and none have any chipping. It's been several years, so I'm not sure who sells the best most durable stuff.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Your probably better off just using a spray can and spraying a light coat or two. If you spray it to thick, you'll loose the grain of the console. Spray can job should hold up to several years of use.

I have decided to sell the console back to my buddy (who sold it to me). I'm most likely going to buy the rebop center console.

I used SEM on the dash pad in my car and it's held up well so far. As a matter of fact so has the rest of the interior I dyed black.
