I know my 65 GTO came with them, but I don't remember them from 1969. Thanks

To my knowledge, redlines were availble into the 1970 model year, not sure of application. I love them too, just wish that someone had redline radials that were not $145 each like Cokers.

They certainly were still available in 69'. They were available from Goodyear and Firestone RPO code PW8. They may have also been available from Uniroyal and General as well.

See my pics below... Goodyear Redlines...

Note: For SSuper Dave, Cooper makes a radial Redline and I believe it's much less expensive than Coker.

Our car is almost identical to Brian's and it came with PW7 white wall tires when new. PL5 was the white letter optional tire. I think there was a '69 SS396 Chevelle ad showing red line tires. Definitely an option in '69.

Thanks, I'll check Cooper for the radial redlines. Then, if I can wear my Goodrich RWL TA's out, I'll get some redlines. Maybe a burnout contest?

Brian, any size or pricing info on the redline Coopers? Local tire dealer denies they exist (dam small towns!)

I checked with my local, (small town), Cooper dealer. They referred me to Coker and said Cooper didn't make redlines.

Sorry guys, The distributer my friend used was Diamond Back Classics. He said he thinks they are made by Dayton Tire. He also said he recalls them to be about $135 ea. Sorry for the bad info.

Brian,

We forgive you. Speaking for myself, I think I made a mistake once. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Sure wish I could find some cheaper redlines though.

Thought I'd resurrect this instead of starting a new thread...

I have a 67 with BFGs 235/60/15 and 255/60/15 on 15x7 and 15x8 Vette rallys. I was looking on the Coker site and they only list 195/75/15 up to 235/75/15 on their redline tires.

I've never been able to get tire sizing right, so I have to ask what sizes should I think about getting? I would like the fronts to be a little narrower and a little taller. The back is a good size but I'd like them to be a size narrower. I want to get slightly more height and in going narrower, hopefully to resolve some occaisional rubbing issues I have. The front rubs when I turn hard and the left rear rubs when I have people in the back. In fact, all the letters are rubbed off the sidewall on that side. Car is lowered slightly. See below.

Are the Coker sizes listed going to help me out any? Their biggest tire is a 235, the same as what I have on the front? Are the redlines going to work and keep the similar stance I have?
