I have a set of centerline wheels coming next week and I am trying to decide on what tire to throw on them. I will most likely go with the Goodrich Radial T/A's. Thought about the drag radials, but with this car (b.t.w., a 69 coupe) seeing a lot of wet road time, I'm not sure that would be a good idea. Anyway. The back wheels are 15x10 with 5" bs. I want to go with 275/50's because I want to stay as close as possible to a 26" dia. tire. Plus I know the 275's will fit in the wheel well with no prob. My concern is that all the listings I have found for a 275 rate them for up to a 9.5 wide wheel. Will the extra .5" make that much difference? From measuring it looks like a 295 will go with just a minor triming on the rolled in area of the fender lip. But if a 275 is fine it would be preferable.

I have a pair of BFG drag radials on 15x10 draglites. The tires are the 275/50 and fit the wheel fine. They also fit on the back of my 68 with no problems. I have also ran 295/50s but they were on 15x8 ralleys with 4.5 BS and they also did not require any wheel well mods. The reason for removing the drag radials was due to traction issues at the track. For the street I did not like them as they don't fill the wheel well like I wanted. Currently my car has 305/50 Euro T/As on 15x10 draglites. The old blue pic link in my signature is another setup with 325/50 drag radials. They rubbed slightly on the outer lip of the wheel well. Good luck with your setup.

BTW if you want a pic of the 275/50s on the 15x10 draglites email me via the address in my profile I'll sned you one.
