I was wondering if anyone knows if the original chrome big block valve covers on a 70 chevelle had any #s stamped on them and if so where they would be. I have a guy trying to sell me a set that he says are original but I want to make sure. They sure look like they are 40 years old but I can't any #s on them. Thanks

I don't believe there are any part numbers on them. The quaility of the chrome finish was not extremely good compared to today's standards. The spot welds for the oil drippers are readily evident. In addition, they should have clips to hold the TCS and Temperature sending unit wires.

they were flashed chromed. just like air cleaners and all window stainless

These are for sure the old flash chrome job and they don't have the drippers so they probably aren't worth rechroming when the repops are so cheap. Thanks for the help.
