I searched the archives, but couldn't find this one. I'm just wondering if it's possible to put the stock SS tire size (F70-14 I understand, translates to 225/70r14 I think) on my '70 stock Malibu (Just purchased from old lady, current tires are 195/75r14) You can probably tell that I don't know much at all about tire sizes:)!
P.S. Interior never redone, any idea where build sheet would be?
Thanks for help!

If you're going for an original look, then the 225-70-14 is going to be a little bit big. They should fit and look fine, just not original. I'd guess that those 195-75-14's are real close to what the car originally came with. Are you sure the F-70-14 is the same size as a 225-70-14? I would have thought that the 225-70 would have been closer to a G-70, or maybe even the H-70.
I believe the most common place to find a build sheet in a 70 is in the seat springs. Mine was in the back seat, upright portion. Also common, is on the back side of a door panel. Happy hunting.

The E78-14 translates into P185/75R14 as a radial (or 7.35-14 if you want to go backwards), F78-14 is a P195/75R14 (7.75-14 in ancient times). Also the 225s are equivalent to a G70-14 tire. Yes I did the math before I bought mine.

Hey, thanks for the help. One more question, the tires I've got on now just seem scrawny, would there be any advantage of having, say, a 215/70r14 other than a little beefier? Also, the car is only a Straight 6 :-( with a TH-350, if it matters.
Thanks!
