Hi. I have a '70 Malibu sport-coupe on some Weld Draglites. Before I bought my rims I checked on here to get the right B.S. Since then I've noticed that mine seems a little excessive compared to other rims. Can anybody shed light on if I have the right set-up? I'm running 15x8 front and back with 4.5'' B.S. up front and 5.5'' B.S. in the rear with 235/60s in front and 255/60s in rear. I haven't noticed any rubbing at all and I'm really just double-checking. I'd like to size the rears up to 275/60s will this be ok? Thanks for all replies!!!
P.S.: My friend is about to order some Weld Rodlites for his '65 Skylark (A-Body) will these B.S. figures be the same for his car also? Thanks again!!!

You don't need 5.5" of backspacing in the back if you're only using a 15x8 wheel there. Use 4.5" instead. This will center the wheel in the wheelwell.

Blaauboer, I was told once that with my 5.5''BS in the rear I could run 295/50s by just curling the inner lip up on the quarter. Is this true? and if so, is my 10-bolt going to be cool with that big of tire (295) on the back? Thanks for your help!!!!

Won't fit. 70bowtie, you said you're using IN BACK a 15x8 wheel with 5.5" of backspacing, then be ready for for bigtime rubbing on the inside of wheelwell (or possibly on the frame rail) if you stick on a 295/50. You want that 295/50 tire centered in the well...if you want to use 15x8s you need 4.5" of backspacing. If you use 15x10s, you need 5.5". If you use 15x8s with 5.5" of backspacing, you're pulling the tire to the inside of center, and something will most definitely rub with rubber that wide. Look at Adamlym's site--he's using 15x10s with 5.5". You're present back wheels won't work with the tire you want to use.

I see... Seeing on how I already have the wheels and am not really in the market for new rims (financialy http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif ) What is my best choice of tire? Stay with the 255/60s?
