I have been talking to Legendary Auto Interiors, as well as Dan and Woj, and possibly others, about reproducing the door panels for the `69 Chevelle 300 Deluxe 2 door post sedans.
Mike at Legendary asked for a full set of pics of some of my original 300 Deluxe 2Dr. Sedan door panels. They will be using the pics in R&D to start moving ahead to possible production of these. I may need to sacrifice an original set for their patterns to be more accurate.
Dan is talking with him right now also and will be giving more of an update I'm sure.

I hope to hear what the price will be for a set of these, if they go into production, in the near future.
If there is anyone else that is willing to pre-order a set of these for their car, they need 30 orders to make production viable.

Ok....here is the latest news. We need 25 orders in order to have Legendary Auto Interiors produce the "300 Deluxe" door panels. The door panels would come in 3 colors...Black, Blue and Green. The price will be $331 for the fronts and $213 for the rears. They need "YOUR Original" top rails for only the rear door panels. They make the front rails in shop for the front panels. However, If you wish to use your own original top rails for the front door panels, this can be arranged.
Because I expressed concern with there very own made front top rails, LAI has offered to ship me the very first proto-type set of door panels to try and test.....and give my results back to everyone. I thought this was very cool of them to do.

Now for the "300 Deluxe" seat covers.....once LAI`s has an original set of seats to use as a mold. They will be able to make the seat covers in only Black, Blue and Green Cloth. No Black Vinyl at the present time. A set of "300 Deluxe" seat covers price is $1013. NOS material is subject for availability.

Let`s spread the world.

Dan.

It's been a few years, but SMS Auto Fabrics was the only company that I came up with that had the original basket weave look vinyl for the seat inserts. I imagine there will be more than a few guys thanking you for your efforts.

Dan,
hope this isn't a dumb question but you say $331 for the fronts, is that for one or a left and right? Same question on the backs, $213 for each panel or both rears?

Not to upstage Dan, but I ordered 2 full sets of door panels yesterday from Legendary.
Each set cost $544.

Just a reminder.
Legendary is still in need of about 10-15 more orders for the 300 Deluxe door panels in order to go into production.

Here's their contact info.

Wanted to stir up this old post to see if there's any more guys / gals interested in adding to an order with Legendary?

Jim,

I hope that I am wrong....but my gut tells me it`s not going to happen. Due to the rarity of these cars.....not enough demand

What it the cost of an SMS set of door panels?

Jim,

If I remember, last I checked with SMS it was around $700 for door panels, I don't recall if that included the inside qtr covers or not.

Has anyone seen what their final product looks like? I'm sure it is decent.

The post car I had is sold, but I know the guy who has it. If this door panel deal gets resurrected, I'm sure he'd be in. I also could use a set for my 300 hardtop.

Woj,

SMS had a price increase on January of 2012..... Your price WAS a good price.

If I recall, I paid SMS about $1,200 to redo a set of four back in 2006. Don't recall if that included the international shipping or not. Quality was excellent.
