I need some good tires for my 70 chevelle I am going to be changing rims on them soon i dont no what sizes yet can you recomend any?

I suggest you do a search on this subject as there have been numerous "discussions" on this for 70-72 Chevelles and you can get all kinds of input because it all depends on what you are looking for. Do you want the biggest tire you can fit on all 4 corners? Or are you just looking for the factory stock look ?? Do you want lower profile tires that give a more modern look or are you looking for just the period correct look. Or maybe just something that looks period correct and gives a little aggressive appearance. I went with the latter.

On my 70SS I have

Front: Stock 14X7 SS rims and P215 70R BFG T/A tires

Back: Wheel Vintiques Repro 15X8 SS rims with 4.5" backspacing and P275 60R15 BFG T/A's (These fit like a glove and fill the well nicely with no problem of rubbing)

I think you can fit P295 50R 15's (wider and shorter than 275 60 series) on the back with 5.5" backspacing but the lower profile on a 70 Chevelle is not my cup of tea.

Again I suggest you do a search on "1970 Chevelle", 1971 Chevelle, or 1972 Chevelle as what fits on one should fit on all. Use the search function at the top of the page where your posting topic shows up. If you can't find anything using those topics (which I doubt) you can always do a search on "Mytmouse" under the "name" portion of the search function. I have responde to other similar questions as wel as others and you can read all their input too.
