Is the original 'glide worth anything? I'm swapping my TH350 with a 700r4 and I'll never use the glide again. Worked when pulled. What's it worth or should I 'donate it' to the tranny shop? Plus convertor....

I had one from a 69 Chevy for years....tried on and off to sell it for next to nothing, and had zero interest. Wound up putting it out on the curb on one of our former village's "Spring Clean-Up days" and off to the scrapyard it went.

Donate to local school auto shop program. Should be able to write off as a charitable donation.

I had a good one from a '69 Chevelle for sale for quite some time before finally getting $50 for it. I wouldn't give a plugged nickle for all of them personally. They will move a vehicle but that's about it IMO. Like starting off in second gear. Some people like highly modified versions for drag racing but what fun is one shift?

Interesting Hemmings article, thanks... But I guess the key is that they made 17 million of them... Thanks for the input, guys- I'll see if my transmission guy can use the core.

Jay, I'd love to see your garage with all that stuff in it!

Like Von said, they are sought after by some of the drag racers.
I once had to pay over $100 for a good case when mine turned out to have some problem areas.

IS it original to your 65? Floor or column shift? Would $40 take it?

That is true about Craigslist. I sold a Saginaw I bought for $20 on there for $200. All I did was clean the outside up a little bit with paint thinner/carb cleaner and sent it on it's way.

Did you ever hear back from that lady about the Ford transmissions?

I sold mine for $50 on craigslist and had about 20 responses in 2 hours.
craigslist flagged it for some reason, but I had sold it by then.

Is it a Powerglide (2 speed) or a TH350 (3 speed)?

I have a power glide out of a 1954 Chevrolet Belair cast iron unit tried to sale with lines and trans cooler. had a few bits until they found out it was a unit for an enclosed drive shaft style drive line from the '50s Oh well it has a home until I find the right person.
