i have the original 71 ss wheels (15x7) and want to fit the widest tire all the way around without ruining the look. you know without having to jack up the rear end. i want the tire to fit in the 1/4 well and sit level.

thanks

I have put on 245/60-15 all the way around on a 15x7 rim with no problems. My 70 is lowered 2 inches and has a stiffer springs

I have the same ss wheels on my 71 also, i have 225/70/15's which are 27.4" tall. i am going to put 235/65/15 on the front and 255/60/15 on the rear, both front and back are actually 27" tall.
this way the car will be just about the same hight as the stock tires and will not affect the rear gear ratio.
check out http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
it is a tire size calculator that shows both tire sizes at the same time.
hope this helps
