Damn it. Should have known better...

Sponsored Vendor to remain nameless that advertises in every magazine about their suspension stuff sent me a frikin 7/8 centerlink instead of the 13/16's that my car is supposed to have.

Nothing like waiting a week to recieve the last peice of your rebuild to find out its wrong.

I frikin KNEW better.. I KNEW this was gonna happen. Tried to jump through all the hoops- got all the part number correct to get stuff locally- but thought i'd save a few $$ to get it from these guys instead.

I even asked on the phone when ordering if they could verify what size the one they listed for 1966 was since it didn't say in their catalog- and did not list an option between the bars as the 64/65 did. The answer was "no" of course...

Damn it.

Now i have to deal with sending this back across the country to get the right one.

ARG

I guess we'll see how their customer serivice is on returns....grrr

I've been there too. Unfortunately for me, I had already "modified" my part and was stuck.

When I redid my front end, the centerlink I ordered arrived missing the castle nuts and dust boots. I contacted the vendor and they insisted it didn't come with any of that stuff because the picture in their catalog didn't show it. I ended up contacting the manufacturer to verify if it was supposed to come with that stuff and they just asked for my address and sent it to me (no charge).

Can you please either PM me or post who the vendor is. I am about to purchase an entire front suspension for my 65 and I was thinking of using a "sponsored vendor". Don't want to have the same problem you did.

I wanted to bring this back to the top So I can eat a little crow...

The Bar from PST is correct and does fit the moog idler arm...

Here is the rub. The PST bar -IS- a 7/8" bar- however the studs on the ends are the correct size for 13/16th bar.

When i opened the package and measured the bar- was so irritated that i did not properly test the fit of the idler to the bar. I slid it on- but did not press it down enough to get it to seat- just saw that it was loose- assumed it was wrong as the bar diameter was wrong.

After talking on the phone this morning wiht the PST tech support guy- he pulled a "13/16ths bar and a 7/8s bar and confirmed that both were the same 7/8s diameter bar but had differen size studs on the ends.

So- just to be positive, i pulled my original idler arm off the car- and sure enough its bore size matches the new MOOG one i got, which also matches the PST centerlink... I pulled the little gasket off the centerlink stud, and slid the idler on it- now it seated 100% and fit as it would when it was tightened down.

So my appologies- PST did in fact have the right item listed in their catalog for 66, and did send me the correct peice as well.

Would definitely be benificial for them to make a note or tell the tech support guy (now he knows) that those new replacement centelrink bars all use the same larger bar stock- just iwth the specific ends for the different original sized bars.
