: Free Slicks - will they fit?
four o two Jan 20th, 02, 4:16 PM I have a 72 SS and a friend of mine is giving me a set of Goodyear Eagle slicks for me to try out. I don't have any rims for them, and my rear axle is not modded, so I was wondering if they'd fit, and what size wheel i need...
the slicks are 27.5-12.5-15

MSD 6A - Accel Super stock coil - Moroso 8mm wires
Hooker longtubes - 2.5 inch exhaust - "H" pipe - 2 chamber flows
Turbo 400 - 2500 stall - 3.90 gears - BFGoodrich Radial TA's mounted on stock 15x7 wheels. (no traction) - rev limiter set on 6200
BB_Mike Jan 20th, 02, 9:31 PM I ran a 10" slick under my car one day. It was REALLY right. doubt that 12.5" will fit. maybe with some lip trimming and inner fender banging.
Here's an idea. take off one rear wheel and just hold the freeby slick up in there. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
About that rev limiter. I don't know where you shift, but make it a point to put in at least 5-600RPM higher. I found that the MSD liked to pull spark earlier than the advertised RPM on the pill.

well, while the thread is still alive, what do you think is the best tire to put on a 17x9 w/ 5.5 inches of backspacing? I wanna go as wide as possible, but not rubbing - and i'd like to keep from rolling the lip. ideas? I was thinking 275-40's
