Is there any way to tell the width of a rim with the tire mounted? I REALLY don't want to have the tire busted loose just to measure my rim. Thanks.

No way to accurately do it on the car as the brakes are usually in the way.

Just remove the tire and get a friend, wife, etc. to hold straight edges from the inner and outer rim/tire bead and measure the rim width with a tap through the center or spoke area.

Most all tire shops have a large caliper type device to measure rim widths before balancing. Know anybody that works in a tire shop?
