to get a 315 wheel on your car you will need like an 11' wheel.

You can get them on with the right offset. I have the wheels from a '98 corvette on my '66 elco. they are 17x8.5 in the front with 255/40/17 and in the rear they are 18x9.5 with 295/40/18. those tires are perfect on there. I had 275's on the front and with an 8.5 inch wheel they bulged out too much. It didn't look good. and just so yo uknow, because of the offset of the corvette wheels I had to use 2" adapters all the way around. If you get something with a 5.5-6" backspacing you should be able to get a 315 on there. Get out your tape measure to be sure. They will fit with the right wheel.

How can i measure to see if they fit. And i do plan on tucking all this tire under the car i hate it when tires stick out past the fender wells on cars.

I have had 315/35/17's on my '68 chevelle. The fit is very tight. They fit inside the wheel well. On the right side I had to pull the tail pipe in just a bit for clearance.

The rim is a 9.5" w/ a 5.5" offset. The total outside width of the mounted tire is 12 1/8".

The inner wheel house is where the tight fit is. I can just fit my boney finger in between the tire and inner wheel house. On a hard corner it rubs a slightly.

The fronts I used are 255/45/17.
