Hello, i got a chance for a 88 chevy 3500 for free with a big block in it. I was told it was a 454 but i went to go look at the engine numbers on the front of the block and there are no numbers there. Were they are suppose to be its totally blank. Has anyone seen this before? Whats going on?? Thanks, Joe

Casting numbers are on the back driver side of the block. Go to www.mortec.com to see a free listing of all numbers on big and small blocks, and the other codes on the block.
