: 15x7 Rally wheels with tall spindle conversion

I have a 67 Chevelle - and am in the process of a drum to disk conversion. I am debating going with stock GM vs the tall spindle/12" disk conversion. A deciding factor might be if I will need new wheels.

The current wheels are 15x7 with I believe 4 1/4" back space. Will these fit the larger caliper/rotor set up?

I also understand the conversion pushes the wheels out board a tad - will this cause problems?
I have 205/70 tires currently.

Thanks for any input.

15x7 Monte Carlo wheels (FW code I think) fit my 12" brakes, no problem. Track width will increase a little...can't remember how much, maybe 1/4" on each side.

On my 68 Chevelle 12" conversion, I had no clearance problems at all with 15x7" ralleyes from a Monte Carlo.

K,
No problem with the 15x7s. that's what I'm running on my 71SS. Mine are the Corvette style with 4 or 4 1/2" BS. THe calipers are the same size as stock, in fact, I suggest you re-use your stock front calipers for the B-body conversion. It is only the rotors that are bigger diameter, but plenty of room under those rims.

Yes, the B-body spindles do push the wheels out about 1/2", but you should be no where near the outside lip with those tiny tires! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif I'm running 255/60 tires right now and want to get to 275's when these wear out.

Good luck,
Bill C.

Everybody - thanks for the responses

BC - when you say "re-use stock calipers"
are you referning to stock 69-72 Chevelle calipers or stock from the B-body donater?
