I'm building a 67 SS396 with original remote reservoir pump setup. I swapped in a late-model 12:7 ratio steering box with metric fittings. I also have the metric pressure nut to install on my original pump. I know about flare-to-metric press-in adapter fittings available from Lee Mfg but I'm curious to know if anyone has found a metric pressure hose for 67 big-blocks which mimics the length and shape of the original hose. If not, what experience good or bad have you had with the press-in adapters from Lee? Thanks for all your help.

I did the same thing as you, but I had no luck with the Lee adapters in two different boxes. First box I had was from a 84 Monte SS. The adapter fit snug in the fitting port, but when I started the car, fluid leaked BADLY past the hose fitting. The box turned out to be junk, so I went with a 97 Grand Cherokee box. When I went to try the adapter in the port, it wasn't even close to fitting tightly. :(

I wound up using a pressure hose from an '87 Cutlass with a 307 V8. It worked great. Other guys are using the pressure hose from an '80 Camaro. Looks like it will fit pretty well too.

Thanx Pete, I'll take a look at those hose options.
