a little background first, I bought a 68 chevelle will all new quarters, tail pan, inner wheel wells, and the trunk pcs. well the car is at the body shop, getting preped for paint and I got a call today saying the quarters were put on wrong, and the tail lights will not line up. I was told they would have to cut the quarters off and put new ones pack on. I was told if they cut the new ones off it would would be more labor $$ to put thoes back on.. So he wants me to get new ones.... does this sound right?

I would like to see some pictures with the tail lights sitting, so we can see how bad it really is. I guess there are a couple of ways to look at this situation depending on how bad it is. Pictures would really help.
Full quarters, or skins that are currently installed? If it just had skins put on they will want to put a Full panel on. If it had new full quarters installed and they are very careful they could probably reuse it, but it would cost more. Remember their time=$$$. If they have to spend "X" hours to remove a quarter to reuse you are getting charged for that time. The shop is trying to save time for themselves, thinking about quality, and trying to save you money. My guess.

If I've read your blogs correctly. The Maaco that's doing the work, are the ones that welded the quarters up to start with.
