Got my new jegs catalog. Anyone else checkout the 17" s/s wheels by cragar? Look pretty cool and not too expensive at 199.00 a wheel.

I have been looking for 17" cragar S/S for my car. Hmm wonder if i can find them somewhere else cheeper than 199 a piecs being as they are usually 100 a piece for the 15" ones.

i have 17's and don't like em, (weld wheels) the feedback/vibration thru the car is terrible, there isn't enough tire to absorb road shock, so i goes thru the car. think it thru before you buy, i'll end up buying a set of 15's and selling the 17's soon

Feel/vibrations depends on more than just the tire. Vehicle weight, alignment, spring and shock rate, type of tire, and tire pressure to name a few.

You also need to consider the condition of your body mount bushings. If these are old and hard, your going to feel more road vibrations.

I have 17's and all new bushings in the suspension and body mounts. Plus, I have a 1982 El Camino bench seat which is far superior to the original stock bench. I feel comfortable with the ride. I admit it is not as soft as 15's , but it is not harsh either.

Of course I'm also used to the ride of a 1981 Corvette. The El Camino rides softer than my Vette, and the Vette has 15's. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
