Hey All,
Is there a way to tell if you have hidden wipers just from the transmission or wiper motor? My car is apart and that is all I have to go by. I did a search that said if the drivers side had a two piece arm that they were hidden but I don't have the arms.

It is a 71 Malibu.

Thanks, Steve

If your car has hidden wipers there will be an extra pin near the main drive
post for the second arn to anchor to. It only acts as a pivot for the arm. That allows the blade to cover a little more of the windshield.

thanks for the info and the pics guys. There is also an extra bolt in that end that mine doesn't have.

oddly enough, I looked at a 68 lemans parts car that I have and it has the hidden wipers complete with the arms. I see a change over coming since I'm getting a new switch and motor anyway.

Pay attention because you will also use the plate mounted to the firewall from the doner car. It has or had an oval gasket between the plate and the firewall and don't throw it away because no vender I found has them. The wiper motor also has a foam type round thick gasket still available. ;)
