Ok guys I am replacing everything on my front suspension and I figured while I have the A arms aprt and before I put new bushungs in, I might as well replace the shafts. When I pulled the a arms off the drivers side had 3 shims on each bolt. The passenger side had none. A freind of mine is telling me to get the offset shafts so I am wondering if I should. I seen some from opg, they say billet and chrome molly but they are like 200 bucks. So Before I lay down that kind of money I want to know that it is warranted. Also are there cheaper ones out there? PLease help any info would be greatly appreciated.

ok so if I put the offset shafts on there with the same amount of shims in the same location will my alignment still be ok or will it change with the offset shafts. And also should I replace the shafts at all? And if I do should I do the offset shafts or just the stock ones. I can build a motor blindfolded but im not much of a suspension guy. So this is a learning experience and all feedback would be appreciated.

As I understand it, offset shafts are used for two reasons: to eliminate large shim packs either due to frame sag (what they were intended for) or using B body spindles. If your car is aligned, I would see no need for you to need offset shafts unless the new bushings would for some reason require excessively large shim packs. In any case, you should have the car aligned after your rebuild is complete.
