I thought the same thing... reading the last (or nearly the last) there was terminology used that could have offended some. But it would have been just as simple to PM the person and change the wording. Otherwise, I didn't see anything wrong with the whole thread.

whomever decided to arbitrarily lock the thread, obviously had issues with folks having a sane and decent conversation.

Maybe the subject matter was over said thread lockers head and they just couldn't stand to see intelligent conversation happen. I even had my wife peruse the subject at hand, and even for a pretty staunch conservative that she is, she is completely dumbfounded that someone would lock this thread.

This has to be the most petty misuse of power I have ever seen on this site since I've been here.

I just did a re-read and there is nothing offensive in there. Are you some kind of illiterate that locked it out? You obviously read and censor at will, must be a liberal.

Why? ................
Six pages of a few people bitching about other people and judging them based on how they type English on an international message board.

This site is not about judging and running down other members or bragging about how much better we are than they are.

I disagree - I think some people certainly read it that way and may have taken that with them - but that's not what the thread was about. I think forever tried to explain that at least once in the thread.

He's right, you know.... there's been threads started by people, that after you read a couple lines, your brain hurts.

I graduated in 1983, and at that time, EVERYONE was an English Major.... It was a state requirement that you took three years of English.

Hey guys, there were many great comments to the post that I wrote on the slaughter of the English language that goes on, lack of correct grammer, forget about punctuation,
and mis-spelling, not typos is common place. Some posts are near impossible to read and interpret the statements. We had numerous comical memories back to our primary grades and how we formed our standards that we have carried our entire lives. BUT the individual who cut down the post, and will not say why or who he / she should be in the congress, that's how they work, their rules or no game, change the rules as you see fit and what is good for me is way too good for you, we know better what's good for you. You are a pucilanimous, duplicitous person at best. This serves as a forum for a free and open exchange of ideas. Although the love of a Chevelle is the primary reason to be here, we should be able to speak freely of other items with no techniacl criteria. This thread was opened on "Site Discussion". Maybe you should understand what an open forum means.

Look Roland, no rules were changed, we never ever allowed members to post degrading-belittling comments about other members and boast about how much better they are than another member since this site first started (which was long before you came here.)

Like I said above "that's not what Team Chevelle is all about" (or at least it wasn't until lately.)

There is no need for any of us to judge other members by the content of their posts and then brag about how much better you are than they are.
If you have a problem trying to interpret another person's post, just pass it on by and move on.

Yeah, I know some people can do better but MAYBE some of the members you are complaining about are doing the best that they can.

Seems like every once in a while some new person gets on here and right away starts to make trouble by commenting on how the site is ran or crying about not liking this or that or how or what other members do.

Sorry but there never has been and never will be any requirement for any member to be perfect.
This is all informal posting, not a place to be judged by how they type.

No problem, I will accept any and all that is written, this is the new America. I am a person who went through the school of hard knocks and am a HS graduate - '68 / oldtimer. I never finished college but learned alot of things by myself and have been reasonably successful. My points have never been that I or anyone else here is any better than anyone else except for some of the writings that are more like being spoken in tongues. I tried with others to offer some levity, our past that made us what we are today and why. I like the old America that I grew up in.
OK you get no more rhetoric, but when you have to press 1, it's on you and why you do not understand.
