Hi all! I've been away from Team Chevelle for a couple years. Now I'm finally back. My question concerns rear suspension. My '72 has 295/50/15's, air shocks, a "Big Ten" housing with a Strange spool, Richmind 4:11 gears, and full floating axles. The control arms, trailing arms, springs, and bushings are stock. I have line lock and for the past year and a half since I've had the new rear end in, my burnouts have been like butter. Now all the sudden, I have severe wheel hop. It shakes the car so violently I think it's gonna fall apart! What gives? This now happens any time it breaks loose (often). What gives? I've had the driveshaft shortened but not balanced. I plan on having it balanced. I've been told the tires may be out of balance. Ehat else should I check? What kind of suspension mods have you guys made? What do you recommend? Ladder bars? Traction bars? No Hop brackets? 4-link? New control and trailing arms? How do you guys hook these cars up? Any help or advice would be great. Thanks.

If they've been like butter before and you haven't changed anything, get underneith the car and check out why.

Check things like torque specs on control arm bolts, shocks aren't leaking etc.

Then go from there and swap wheels/tires from one side to the other to see if the symptoms may go away.

Let us know what you find out & good luck!
