I'm putting back together a 65 I got in piecse. I put the C clamp bracket onto the steering column and bolted it back onto the studs that come down from the top of the dash, but it is still loose. Is there supposed to be a tube or something over the column (the wires are still exposed)that will take up the slop ?

Jim, the studs need to go through the dash, the brace which supports the pedals, and the horseshoe clamp. You should get a tight fit between the pedal bracket and the clamp. The wires are covered by a thin metal strip. --- Carl
