No they shouldn't. Run away from that spindle if you even though about purchasing it!

If any of that pitted area comes in contact with a bearing surface, then yeah, BAD SPINDLE, otherwise no biggie.

I usually see the 69 and later models with imperfect casting marks like that. They are still useable.

They came off of my car (70 SS) that way. It wasn't running when I got it. The area where the bearings ride look ok. Could this just be sloppy casting/finishing?

Looks like the inner race of the outside bearing has spun on the spindle also.
Might just be a casting defect but with the cost of paint body blood swaet and years I'd go with new spindles IMHO

That one will fail (stress concentration will cause every little force on the spindle be multiplied many times over). You don't want your pride and joy totalled because of a spindle do you?

that must be a FORD part :eek: .. chevy would Never send anything like that out ..... graemlins/clonk.gif Quailty control must have called is sick that day graemlins/sad.gif .. please replace those !! I get worried just lookin at em !!!
