What is your personal favorite front end rebuild kit and why? I'm thinking of leaning towards the poly urethane bushings with graphite so they dont squeak. Just wanted to see what everyone else was doing. By the way, its a 72 El camino with drum brakes right now, hopefully swapping to discs when I rebuild the front end.

I used polygraphite all around the car and it is tight but not harsh. It rides a lot like my 97 Z-28.

I did the same as you are about to. Full front end rebuild and convert to disc brakes. I went with the stock brake set up, not the tall spindle. I didn't want the drop in ride height that comes with it. Then I ended up using Hotchkis drop spring. And now I want to go back to stock.

I went with the PST front end kit. Polygraphite bushings, centerlink, tie-rods, KYB shocks, 1-1/4" swaybar. I also got Fatman Fabrications tubular arms. They were the only ones producing tubular lowers at the time and I think are still the only ones making tubular uppers in stock dimensions. Everyone else make them for the tall spindle.

I am very happy with the outcome. Front end is nice and tight. It was a good bit of work, but not difficult.

Tim.

I was very happy when I ran my stock front end with full polygraphites. You can't go wrong in my opinion.

Polygraphite in the back is another story...

If you go with a complete kit, check to see who manufactures the hard parts, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. I'd go with someone who will offer MOOG, TRW DANA or some other well known manufacturer. Years ago I bought a kit with no-name hard parts and I was doing another rebuild in less than 50,000 mi. Second time around I bought MOOG at the local parts store & ordered a bushing kit. Am doing the same for my camaro as we speak. Prices were competetive with the kits.
