I have a friend with an 81 Chevy Malibu, he was asking me if I knew of a rearend that would bolt into his Malibu. His rearend is bout 2 inches shorter length wise on each end than my Chevelles which would make his tires rub. He spent alot of cash on his wheels and tires, so buying another set of wheels with a different offset isnt something he wants to do unless he has to. He has a 10 bolt in it with a 2.41 gear. So replacing this with a better rearend would be money well spent. Short of finding another Malibu of a similar year with a 12 Bolt in it, does anyone know of a car with a 12 Bolt rearend that is the same length? I told him that if you guys didnt know he may have to spend some money on a posi unit and a ring and pinion. He would rather have a 12 Bolt instead of a 10 Bolt naturally. Thanks in advance for your time fellas!

I just read an article about this. I think you can use a 94-98 Caprice rear end. The article said to llo for junked police units. Rear disc and posi.
