I'm finishing up my 1972 Chevelle SS and have run into two problems. The first is the new windshield I bought has the radio antenna in the windshield but no connector for the radio lead at the cowl. Does anyone know where this connector my be purchased or some other type of solution? Second, the car has a new water temp gauge and sending unit (single contact) but the gauge runs 40 to 60 degrees hotter than the actual temp of the water. Has anyone else run into this problem and have a fix? Thanks!!!

Just so I'm clear, are you saying there is no connector at the bottom of the windshield? If that is missing, then Houston, we have a problem...

If it is the actual radio antenna lead that you need, most of the restoration houses sell them and I think I might even have an original laying around some place... Here's one. http://www.opgi.com/product.asp?catmainid=1&topcatid=5&chapterid=5&grpcode=10347&ProdCode=PP00102&yearrange=

I can help on the temp gauge issue. Go to Lectric Limited and buy the correct sending unit. I had the same issue on my 70SS with the gauge reading 30-40 degrees higher than it really was ( it had me real nervous a few times) then I read a post on here about it. I ordered the correct sender for around 25.00 and it works perfect now and reads within 2-5 degrees of my SW mechanical temp gauge. It was the easiest and cheapest fix I have had.

The part that is missing from the antenna is the connector that actually attaches to the antenna. I have the part that is attached to the cowl and plugs into the antenna lead from the radio. Thanks.
