Hey Gang, Merry Christmas

I just ordered a Polygraphite Front end kit from P-S-T. Does anyone know why some Lower control arm bushings were made oval? And are there any benefits to having an oval bushing. My Lower Front Control arm bushing is Round yet my Lower Rear Control Arm bushing is Oval. Does this make sense? I hope P-S-T is aware of this when they send my new gear. Thanks

When you hit a pot-hole or something, most of the force is going to be absorbed by that rear bushing. They made them oval just to povide more material to absorb the shock.

I thought you had to tell PST if you had oval bushings. I don't think cars got them very consistently so they can't know if you need them or not. (Maybe that was just a certain year, though?)

If they haven't shipped yet, you might want to call them and make sure. If they send you the wrong one, I think they are pretty good about changing it for you.

Tim.

Sorry TronDD,

I forgot to mention that I did have to specify Oval Bushings. It just seemed wierd to me that they would be Oval, Thanks for the info though.

THey are pretty inconsistant, i got lower a-arms off a 1970 monte that had oval, then another set off a 1972 monte that had round. I hear its a crap shot.
